Final Blog Post

I think I grew a lot in my confidence since the start of this semester. In the beginning, I was kinda shy and wasn’t that fond of preforming in front of people. But now, I gained a lot of preforming confidence and am ablw to act or direct without being a little hesitant. I think this is partly because I made friends with the people in our class and felt more comfortable around them. I also think it’s because I grew as an actor and a director and I learned more about those topics and what goes into them.
Though this class, I learned that I liked to direct. The first thing I directed was “the Office” scene parody. At first when people chose for me to direct this scene, I was a little hesitant because I’ve never directed before. But I soon realized I really liked it because I like writing the stories, and I like to put scenes together and help actors understand the vision.
The second thing I really directed was the final project called, “impossible”, with Lily, Jordan, and Jeff as actors. I enjoyed writing the story, and for this project I really got into it. I tried to really portray a story that meant something and had a theme, which I tried my best to help the actors see.
I think this final project shows about me is that I learned to love directing and writing stories and scripts, and all the things that come with being a directer. I even enjoyed editing the video if it meant that the story would make the most sense, and I liked being the leader of the group.
Overall, I had a really great time in dramatic arts class this semester, and I would say it was my favorite class so far.
