"The classroom" scene description

  • Jess is the director
  • Instead of taking place in an office, it will take place in a classroom
  • Slightly more juvenile
  • Teenagers
  • Lily contributed the idea for her to hold up a notebook with words on it to show the teacher in the scene
  • As we practised, the group make it their own
  • Kylie acted extra mad when the students talked when asked not to
  • Jeff leaned forward a lot in his seat when watching the character open the wrapper, and he also exaggerated when he shushed Brooklyn
  • Jordan made his part more natural by adding a little of his own dialogue when talking to the teacher near the end of the scene
  • All of the group adopted their roles well like stated above which contributed to the comedy aspect
  • Brooklyn is casted as Jamie(jim)
  • Jordan is casted as Kevin
  • Hannah is casted as (Dwight)
  • Jeff is casted as Andy
  • Lily is casted as the person eating through the window
  • Kylie is casted as the teacher
  • The director placed the characters in a specific order in their seats so that they could interact with each other in specific ways
  • The order of the characters in the seats goes Andy, Dwight, Jim, and Kevin. When looking at everybody, the teacher is seated to the right, and the person eating the sandwich will walk in and sit to the left
  • Jamie: blue collared shirt, grey jeans,
  • Dwight: yellow sweater, grey cardigan, glasses
  • Andy: button up and a tie
  • Kevin- fat suit

  • 4 student desks and one “teacher” desk

  • Teach- lights for the classroom and fade out in the end, but right before the lights totally fade out, Lily slurps on her drink, and the lights come back on and camera focuses on her and then it ends

Final Blog Post

I think I grew a lot in my confidence since the start of this semester. In the beginning, I was kinda shy and wasn’t that fond of preforming in front of people. But now, I gained a lot of preforming confidence and am ablw to act or direct without being a little hesitant. I think this is partly because I made friends with the people in our class and felt more comfortable around them. I also think it’s because I grew as an actor and a director and I learned more about those topics and what goes into them. Though this class, I learned that I liked to direct. The first thing I directed was “the Office” scene parody. At first when people chose for me to direct this scene, I was a little hesitant because I’ve never directed before. Reflection of "The Classroom" Scene

I think that one of our group's strengths was our use of props. We used pencils, paper, a notebook(for Lily's sign), and some of us even used our own shoes(Jordan). Even though they are small, these props, I think, helped to set the scene well. The pencils and paper helped the scene to have a classroom-type vibe. Also, Hannah used one of the pencils to break it and throw it, which I think contributed to the comedy theme and her character's personality. Lily's sign and Jordan using his shoes really just made the scene a lot more funny. I also think they all did a really great job of improvising. I think this because an example is how Jordan used his shoes, and Hannah broke the pencil. They both improvised this, and by doing that, they made it seem a little more natural. Silent Movie First Draft Reveiw

Strengths and weaknesses One strength would be the `colors of the scene. It makes it more dramatic and sad looking. Another strength would be our storyline and plot, which we think are clear for the audience. One weakness of us might be that some of our scenes are a bit confusing. However, we have been figuring that out. We are thinking we could re-do a couple of scenes to make it less confusing, and zooming in on pictures closer so people can see them.
