Review of the fall play

The play I watched recently is called, "The truth about being Earnest". By watching this play, I could tell that the director's vision really helped develop the characters to a point where the audience could differentiate between them really well. They director gave each character different sections that brought out the character's personality. The director also helped create the different relationships between the characters. Such as how one could tell that the two main characters were from the same family, or that the two main female characters didn't know eachother, but became friends in a certain scene.
One actor that I thought did really well in their acting was the role played by Amelia. Even though the director's version of the diologue might have helped with this, she really showed her character's personality. It was like she took on this character as her own self, and she did it really well. Another character that I think acted really well was one of the main male characters- the actor that played Earnest's brother. He also took the character into his own hands like Amelia did, and made his character seem really developed and thought through. And of course, Mao did really really well too. She did a great job of differentiating her characters personality from the others, and this contributed to the whole play.
The sound of this play was unique because instead of something like soundeffects, they had a guitare playing. It was smooth and set the scene as if it were from back in the old days. It filled up empty space and made the set seem more homey.
The set design was well thought out, and all the props were placed in an order that the audience could understand.
One big strength that this play had was it's character's personalities and the way the actors portrayed that in themselves. One weakness would probably be the different lighting. It wasn't a big problem, but I do think it could use some differentiating between the scenes and rooms and where they are. There might have been, but I didn't really notice.
