City Of Stars Director's Vision Idea

As a director, I think it would be very cool if there were 4 or 5 other actors in the scene, but they wouldn't move. They would be stuck in the same position for the entirety of the scene, such as sitting at a table in a "restaurant", or standing talking to each other. They would all have someone near them. The only person who would move would be the main character. When her line is "a dance,", she would usually turn and do a little spin on the stage as if she was dancing. She would do the same thing, except she would dance around the people who are still. The main spotlight will be on her as she moves, but I think a blue light on the still people could really portray sadness, but when she get happier and does the spin, the surrounding lights on the still actors would turn bright, not blue. The main emotion would be sad, then happy when she dances, but when the lights fade out, she would sit on the bench as always, but this time 4 or 5 non-moving people are surrounding her. This shows how she feels alone and different from everybody, and that these people have what she wants- love, or someone to be with.

Final Blog Post

I think I grew a lot in my confidence since the start of this semester. In the beginning, I was kinda shy and wasn’t that fond of preforming in front of people. But now, I gained a lot of preforming confidence and am ablw to act or direct without being a little hesitant. I think this is partly because I made friends with the people in our class and felt more comfortable around them. Reflection of "The Classroom" Scene

I think that one of our group's strengths was our use of props. We used pencils, paper, a notebook(for Lily's sign), and some of us even used our own shoes(Jordan). Even though they are small, these props, I think, helped to set the scene well. The pencils and paper helped the scene to have a classroom-type vibe. Also, Hannah used one of the pencils to break it and throw it, which I think contributed to the comedy theme and her character's personality. Lily's sign and Jordan using his shoes really just made the scene a lot more funny. I also think they all did a really great job of improvising. I think this because an example is how Jordan used his shoes, and Hannah broke the pencil. They both improvised this, and by doing that, they made it seem a little more natural. Silent Movie First Draft Reveiw

Strengths and weaknesses One strength would be the `colors of the scene. It makes it more dramatic and sad looking. Another strength would be our storyline and plot, which we think are clear for the audience. One weakness of us might be that some of our scenes are a bit confusing. However, we have been figuring that out. We are thinking we could re-do a couple of scenes to make it less confusing, and zooming in on pictures closer so people can see them.
